Calculate football scoring rates
Raw goal totals do not show how many matches or minutes a player needed. This calculator adds context by dividing goals, assists and total contributions by appearances. When minutes are available, it also calculates minutes per goal.
You can use it for a single World Cup, a domestic league season, international matches or a complete career. Keep every input within the same period.
Formulas used
- Goals per game = goals divided by appearances.
- Assists per game = assists divided by appearances.
- Contributions per game = goals plus assists, divided by appearances.
- Minutes per goal = minutes played divided by goals.
Comparison example
To compare Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe or Haaland, calculate each player separately using statistics from the same competition and date. A player with fewer total goals may still have a stronger scoring rate if they played fewer matches.
