When will I get my Social Security payment in 2027?
Most people are paid on a Wednesday set by their birthday: the 2nd Wednesday if born on the 1st to 10th, the 3rd Wednesday for the 11th to 20th, and the 4th Wednesday for the 21st to 31st. SSI is paid on the 1st, and people who started benefits before May 1997 or who get both SSI and Social Security are paid on the 3rd. Payments rise 3.6% in 2027.
The January 2027 SSI payment arrives early on Thursday, December 31, 2026, because New Year's Day is a holiday. SSI recipients get two payments in April, July and December 2027 and none in January, May and August.

The SSI payment for January 2028 is paid on Thu, Dec 30, 2027, because January 1, 2028 is a Saturday and Friday, December 31 is the observed holiday. If a payment has not arrived, Social Security asks you to allow three more mail days before contacting them.
